LONG OVER DUE!!

Sorry, this is 3 1/2 weeks late.

ANDREW HARRIS SILVEUS is Here!!

June 23rd at 3:17 am
20 1/2 in.
8 lbs 4 oz

Well as for the labor, I woke up, that Monday, June 22, around 6:45 with really bad cramps so I got up and went to the bathroom to get ready to go to work. Well, after having 3 contractions in the shower I knew they were true contractions and they were close. SO, I finished getting ready and got around and by 8 they were coming every 3-5 mins, I texted Bret at work and told him. So I called the Dr. and she wanted me to come in to get monitored there first before going to the hospital so I wouldn't waste my day there if I wasn't far along. Well, my mom came and took me to the drs. at 10:30 and I was hooked up the monitor and watched for 30 mins. The nurse and dr. assume I wasn't far along b/c I was still able to talk ( & smile) through the contractions so the one nurse told me that i would pry go home and then go in when it gets worst, well then the dr. examed me and I was already 4 cm so i was then told to go to the hospital, but to take my time and walk a little before I go get tied down. (Walking helped me alot to get through the contractions) My mom and I were going to go to walmart but then decided to get my mom something to eat and then go to the park across from the hospital by the river. At the river, I was talking on the phone with Bret, daddy, who was one his way home from work, telling him to take his time and go home and change when my water broke around 12:30. O my, what a feeling, so I climbed into the car and went across the street and walked into the hospital soaking wet. I am soo gald I did not go to walmart :)

I got all admitted and hooked up and by 2 pm I was already 7 cm. So they gave me the epidural, which took 8 tries. Bret was not very happy at that point but it was b/c I holding one shoulder down farther then the other. After that, epidural was great and I was able to relax and even sleep. They got everything ready b/c they thought I would deliver before 7pm. I thought at first and I think all the nurses thought so too that it was going to be quick but Andrew had other plans. Well..... once I got to 9cm I was stuck there for two hours with no progress. I finally got to 10 cm around 9:30 and started pushing, but with the epidural, I couldn't feel anything so I wasn't pushing enough to do anything. So, we turned the epidural down, still nothing. The last resort was to turn it off, so we did b/c I was just about to crown and it would be over soon.

Then...... at 1:30 the nurse ran into my room and told me to stop pushing there was an emergency. Not, something you want to hear when you are ready to crown and no epidual b.c at that point the pushing was what was relieving the pain of the contractions. I listened and stop pushing but it was not fun. Well, I was able to start pushing again at 3 and by 3:17 he was born. He had a very bad cone head b/c he was in the birth canal for 5 hours but he was content and happy there and his heart rate never showed stress so I was very thankful for that and that God was watching over everyone that night at the hospital.

Come to find out later, the nurses had to leave me b/c the other mom in the room next to me had delivered her boy but she was hemorrhaging really bad. Molly said there was blood all over, and molly being a nurse knew it was bad. They were able to save mom and baby. I learned that I can make it through labor without epidural :)

Well, I better get going , Andrew needs some loving (feeding) :) I will try to keep this updated more once we are living back at our own house.

My 25th Birthday!!

I made it through my birthday without having little LJ and I know that this may sound selfish but I was really hoping not to have to share my birthday. It was a great day, not weather wise, but in general. I won the WNDH birthday club, had a Dr. appt, went to work and celebrated with a lunch and cake with my co-workers, then went to Defiance to enjoy Papa John's and Coldstone with my husband. It was the perfect night until my feet became swollen and I was ready to relax!! Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes!!

< 4 weeks

I am currently around 36 1/2 weeks and start my weekly visits to the doctors tomorrow. So, it must mean it is getting close. Bret and I are getting excited and my belly continues to grow!!! We were told last weekend that they might begin to work on the basement portion of the house this week so continue to pray that they do come soon and that it is a quick and easy process with no speed bumps!! The rain has been a huge speed bump this spring and has already delayed the process and the forecast is not looking the greatest for this week either so PLEASE PRAY for patience and sanity throughout the whole temporary moving and new baby. It would be a true blessing if the basement was finished when baby "s" decides to make his arrive but for that to happen they need to start ASAP and baby "s" has to wait at least until the 40 week mark. Below are the pictures of growth from 30 weeks till 36 weeks.

The First 25 weeks

Since I am just starting this blog, I am going to go back and "remember" the first 25 weeks of this pregnancy. Bret and I always knew we wanted children but we also decided that we wanted at least one year of "us" time in our marriage. We decided that we would wait a year and then start trying. We have been in the process of remodeling our house and I knew that the Spring and Summer of 2009 would bring the most work and we would actually get to the basement and upstairs. My thinking all along would be that we would be set and it would be perfect if it took a few months and then got pregnant in December/January then the baby would be born in August/ September, plenty of time to see progress with the house. I should of know the whole time that my timing is not God's timing.
On October 13th, 2008, our first anniversary, I had a hunch so I took a prego test. I was nervous and excited at the same time, probably more nervous that excited at that point, knowing the house situation. That night, I told Bret, he was excited and made me less nervous. We decided we wouldn't tell anyone until after the first doctor's visit. Well after keeping it to myself for two days, I had to tell at least the families. We then told the parents that Sunday. I made a shirt for our dog Jet that read "Only Child" crossed out and " Big Brother" underneath. I also printed cloth diapers with " I love Grandma & Grandpa" on them. Everyone was super excited and did a GREAT job keeping it a secret until Thanksgiving.
My first doctor's appointment was November 25th. Bret came along with me and we were able to hear the heart beat, super exciting! It was around 170 beats per minute. I was lucky and was never really sick but I did have to be sure to eat every 2 hours so that I didn't feel like my stomach was turning inside out. That feeling ended around week 13. My second dr. appt. was December 31st and I actually lost five pounds at the visit. I have no idea how I lost weight during Christmas but somehow it happened and I wasn't to sad about it :) Baby "s" heartbeat was in the 150's again.

The second trimester came and I have felt great except the whole feeling fat thing but I have a good reason so I am going with it :)

January 26th was our ultrasound! What an awesome experience! Bret went with me and we found out it was a healthy baby BOY! On January 28th, week 19, I was sitting at my desk and knew I felt the baby move. It was awesome, I didn't feel it often so I know that is what it was but in the following weeks he has become a kicker and puncher.Week 20 is when I actually felt prego and a belly was growing big. My next dr. appt the baby "S" was still at 150 per minute and I have gained a total of 7 pounds . On February, 22nd Bret was able to feel him kick for the first time. Below is the pictures of the progress of Baby "S"

The beginning

I have been meaning to start a blog since I found out I was pregnant but haven't really had the motivation to until today :) My main reason for this blog is not to brag or complain but to release and preserve thoughts and memories. After finding out that you can have a blog published, i figured that would be best way to create a "Baby Book" of some sort.
